The University of South Dakota and South Dakota Board of Regents have rescinded their attempts to fire professor Michael Hook. Hook was put on administrative leave September 12th after posting insensitive remarks about conservative political activist Charlie Kirk who had been assassinated. Hook filed a lawsuit against the Board of Regents President Tim Rave and two high ranking USD officials claiming his termination was invalid due to the first amendment. Hook’s Jim Leach tells Keloland News there will be no need for a trial now as the state is no longer attempting to fire Professor Hook.
