University of South Dakota head football coach Travis Johansen has announced after just one season he is leaving Vermillion to accept the defensive coordinator job at Rutgers University. USD has announced Matt Vitzthum has been named the 32nd coach in Coyote football history. Vitzthum has spent two seasons on the Coyotes coaching staff, first as the wide receivers coach then being promoted to co-offensive coordinator.
