A Watertown man has been found guilty regarding his role in an officer involved shooting form 2024. According to the South Dakota Attorney General’s office, 41-year-old Andrew Jondahl was convicted in a Yankton county court on two felony counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement and one misdemeanor count of possession of a firearm on public elementary or secondary school premises. Jondahl was shot by police in the parking lot of Yankton High school in 2024 when he walked towards officers holding two shotguns. HE received non-life-threatening injuries and faces a maximum sentence of 50 years in prison.
