A Wood man died Saturday from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash near Presho, South Dakota on October 5, 2026.
Preliminary crash information indicates Clinton James Osterbur, the driver of a 2022 Dodge Ram 2500, was parked on U.S. 183’s northbound shoulder while he removed a tire from a trailer. He returned to his vehicle and made a U-turn towards Winner. At the same time, Wayne Allan Soles, the driver of a 1997 Freightliner FDL120, was traveling southbound hauling gravel. The Freightliner collided with the Dodge. Osterbur was transported to a Winner hospital. He died from his injuries on October 10, 2026. Soles sustained minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing. All information released is preliminary.
