Aberdeen City Council approves third medical marijuana dispensary permit

The Aberdeen City Council Monday approved the application for a permit for a new medical cannabis dispensary in Aberdeen. Should the project come to completion it will be Aberdeen’s third dispensary. The application is for the business “The Flower Shop” LLC and its location is at 2727 6^th avenue southeast suite #103. During the approval process councilwoman Erin Foberg asked about potential regulations regarding ownership of dispensaries and whether or not it was ever considered to make sure they are local. Aberdeen Mayor Travis Schaunaman said that did not come up when drafting the rules overseeing dispensaries and that most successful dispensaries have locations in multiple parts of the state.
