The city of Mitchell has issued a Public Health Advisory for Lake Mitchell due to algal blooms. The advisory is effective as of October 6th. According to a release about the situation, excessive algal blooms can affect water quality, aquatic life and result in harmful toxins. Residents and visitors should avoid swimming, boating, fishing or other lake activities in the water. Animals such as pets should not be allowed do drink it as well. The advisory is in effect until further notice.
