Mobridge man sentenced on child pornography charges

A Mobridge man has been sentenced on child pornography charges. According to the US Attorney for South Dakota 36-year-old Charles Evyn Russell will serve more than nine years in federal prison. Court documents allege from July 31^st 2021 to April 1^st of 2022 Russell had more than 600 images containing child pornography on various electronic devices. Russell used the KIK application to obtain the illicit material from other users. The case was brought forward through a tip from Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide effort to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
