(KWAT – Watertown, SD) The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission is holding a public hearing tomorrow (Wednesday) on a proposed new power plant just north of Toronto in Deuel County.
The 145 megawatt power plant would generate electricity from natural gas, with fuel oil as a backup source.
Missouri River Energy Services CEO Matt Schull (shool) says this project is not in any way connected to the possible construction of a data center in Deuel County…..
The power plant, if built, would also include a high-voltage transmission line that would tie into the Astoria substation.
You can learn more about the project at a public hearing at 5:30 Wednesday at the Deubrook Elementary School.
