SD State Pen inmate receives an additional 50 years in prison

An inmate in the South Dakota State Penitentiary has been sentenced to an additional 50 years behind bars after being convicted of three charges related to an incident in November of 2022. According to South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley, Roland Winfred Miner was convicted of one count felony possession of a weapon by an inmate and two misdemeanor counts of threatening law enforcement. Miner is serving two sentences for intentional damage to property and simple assault out of Minnehaha county.
