South Dakota Public Broadcasting has announced it will expect approximately 23 percent of its budget cut, or $2.2 million after congress voted to claw back $9 billion of money already appropriated for PBS along with foreign aid. South Dakota Public Broadcasting has nine studios across the state covering stories from a host of perspectives. In a statement about the cuts, South Dakota Public Broadcasting says it hopes to continue essential services such as emergency alerts and legislative coverage, but claims due to the cuts 20 to 25 percent of its staff will be laid off.
