The South Dakota Public Utilities Commission has improved a rate increase for NorthWestern Energy customers that will effect approximatly 64,680 electric consumers. The increase approved by the PUC is 11.4 percent which NorthWestern Energy estimates will increase a customer’s monthly bill by $13.67 for homes that use approximately 750 killowatt-hours of energy. NorthWestern Energy sought an increase of 16 percent.
