Vikings sign veteran cornerback Shaq Griffin

The Minnesota Vikings have signed cornerback Shaq Griffin.

Griffin, who originally joined the NFL as a third-round selection (90th overall) with the Seattle Seahawks, joins the Vikings following stints with the Seahawks (2017-20), Jacksonville Jaguars (2021-22), Houston Texans (2023) and Carolina Panthers (2023). He has appeared in 89 games during his first seven seasons in the NFL, making 79 starts. Last season, Griffin played for both the Texans and Panthers, appearing in 13 games with seven starts, totaling 39 tackles, five passes defended and one interception. A native of St. Petersburg, Fla., Griffin played collegiately at UCF. Griffin, who is a one-time Pro Bowl selection (2019), has a twin brother, Shaquem, who he was teammates with at UCF and with the Seahawks.
