66-year-old man killed in lawnmower accident near Epiphany, SD

(KXLG – Watertown, SD) A 66-year-old man was driving a Dixon 48 zero-turn lawnmower in the lane of travel South on Highway 25, two miles North of Epiphany, SD, near mile marker 73. A 2015 GMC Yukon XL was also driving South on Highway 25 and rear-ended the lawnmower.

The driver of the lawnmower was pronounced dead on the scene; the 37-year-old female driver of the Yukon was not injured and was reportedly wearing a seatbelt.

The names of all involved are withheld until notification of the families.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.

The Highway Patrol is an agency of the South Dakota Department of Public Safety.
