A bill to allow the refusal of vaccinations for any reason fails in committee

This morning (Wednesday), the House State Affairs committee defeats a resolution that would have submitted a state constitutional amendment allowing a person to refuse any medical procedure without consequences.

This included inoculations like the COVID vaccines.

House Joint Resolution 5003 sponsor, Republican Rep. Phil Jensen from Rapid City.

Several lobbyists from medical organizations testified against the bill.

Dr. Jeremy Cauwels (Cowls), a physician from Sanford Health.

The committee defeated that measure 11 to 1.
