Dakota Wesleyan head men’s basketball coach Matt Wilber leaving Mitchell to take a job with WNBA Phoenix Mercury

Dakota Wesleyan University head men’s basketball coach Matt Wilber is leaving the program to accept a position on the WNBA Phoenix Mercury coaching staff. He will step down from his position at Dakota Wesleyan effective March 31st. Wilber has been the head coach in Mitchell for the past 11 seasons, the third longest coaching stint in DWU history. In those 11 seasons he went 224-115, making six NAIA National Tournament appearances and a runner up finish in 2015. According to a release from Dakota Wesleyan, Wilber’s family will remain in Mitchell as his wife Lindsay is the head volleyball coach at Dakota Wesleyan and plans on remaining at her position.
