Dakota Wesleyan head men’s basketball coach Matt Wilber leaving Mitchell to take a job with WNBA Phoenix Mercury

Dakota Wesleyan University head men’s basketball coach Matt Wilber is leaving the program to accept a position on the WNBA Phoenix Mercury coaching staff. He will step down from his position at Dakota Wesleyan effective March 31^st. Wilber has been the head coach in Mitchell for the past 11 seasons, the third longest coaching stint in DWU history. In those 11 seasons he went 224-115, making six NAIA National Tournament appearances and a runner up finish in 2015. According to a release from Dakota Wesleyan, Wilber’s family will remain in Mitchell as his wife Lindsay is the head volleyball coach at Dakota Wesleyan and plans on remaining at her position.
