Idaho head women’s basketball coach Carrie Eighmey to be the next USD women’s basketball coach

University of South Dakota athletics is set to hire Carrie Eighmey as its next women’s basketball head coach. The University has not yet officially announced the hire. Eighmey comes to Vermillion from the University of Idaho and will succeed Kayla Karius who left USD about two weeks ago to take the head women’s basketball job at her alma mater, University of Wisconsin at Green Bay. Eighmey went 15-16 at Idaho last season, her first season as head coach. Before that she spent eight seasons at Division II University of Nebraska-Kearney.
