Long time television Minnesota Twins play-by-play announcer Dick Bremer has announced after 40 years he will be retiring this offseason. He will not leave the Twins completely however, as he is expected to move into a Special Assistant role with the organization’s front office. A Dumont Minnesota native, Bremer started calling Twins games in 1983. He called games for both the 1987 and 1991 World Series. He was also inducted into the Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2013.
