Mobridge man faces child pornography charges

A Mobridge man has been charged with distributing child pornography. According to the US Attorney for South Dakota, 35-year-old Charles Evyn Russell was indicted by a federal grand jury in October and has since pleaded not guilty. His trial is set for January 3rd 2023. According to the US Attorney’s office Russell allegedly took part in the crimes between July of 2021 and April of 2022 when he knowingly distributed and possessed child pornography in Mobridge. If found guilty he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
