(KXLG – Watertown, SD) A pickup northbound on Interstate 29 lost control on the icy road and rolled the pickup about five miles north of the Castlewood exit around 7:30 am.
A doctor and nurse stopped by and assisted in attending to the driver. The truck’s roof eventually had to be removed to extract the driver.
While working on the scene, it was reported that a motorist not paying attention nearly hit an officer and fire truck; this is the second event that has happened recently.
The Hamlin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
