The United States Senate judiciary committee on Thursday voted to endorse two South Dakota judges to federal judgeship appointments. The candidates are Eric Schulte and Camela Theeler who testified before the committee on March 6th. The two will replace Judge Jeffrey Viken of Rapid City who retired last October and Judge Karen Schreier of Sioux Falls who plans to retire or take a lower caseload in January. Those two both sit on the federal bench. The nominees will now go before the full senate for full confirmation.
