Aberdeen Police confiscate large amount of marijuana

The Aberdeen Police Department says it has seized a large amount of marijuana following an investigation into a local marijuana distribution ring. According to a release, Aberdeen police seized 10lbs of marijuana, 65 marijuana cartridges, a handgun and $3,300 in chase. A suspect identified only as a 23-year-old man now faces a host of charges including possession with intent to distribute more than one pound of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, keeping a place for the use or sale of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Aberdeen Police reminded the public in the release, recreational marijuana is still illegal in South Dakota.
