Absentee voting in South Dakota begins today for the 2022 general election which will take place on Nov. 23rd. To request an absentee ballot, voters must fill out an application and return it to their county auditor. The application can be found at sdsos.gov. Absentee ballot application forms must include a copy of a photo id and absentee voters are encouraged to take the mailing process and delivery times into account when turning in the ballot. In person absentee voting is also available by visiting your county auditor up to a day before the election which will be on Nov. 7th. Sample ballots can be found online and at your county auditor office.
