According to new poling done by the independent Mason-Dixon Strategy in partnership with the Chieseman Center for Democracy at the University of South Dakota, Attorney General Marty Jackley holds a large lead in the GOP primary for the nomination to represent South Dakota in congress. According to the poll that surveyed 502 registered Republicans between October 16th through the 20th, 57 percent of those surveyed prefered Jackley. Behind him was state lawmaker Casey Crabtree of Madison with 5 percent of the vote and Piedmont businessman James Bialota with two percent. 36 percent of respondents remained undecided. The margin of error for the poll was 4.5 percent. Jackley also announced earlier this month, he raised $525,760 for this race according to required campaign financing reports.
