Brown County Auditor Cathy McNickle has announced her resignation from her position. The Brown County Commission confirmed she resigned at its regular Tuesday meeting and reluctantly accepted her resignation. McNickle is a Republican and in the final year of her first term as auditor. The Brown County Commission has the authority to appoint a replacement for the time being as it is an elected position. McNickle was the only candidate to file a petition to fill the seat in 2022.
