The Brown County Commission at its regular meeting Tuesday approved a motion to accept a $20,000 Deadwood Grant to help with renovations needed to the dome that sits atop the Brown County Courthouse. The Deadwood Grant Program is a program that started in 2002 to help cover the cost of works that will help preserve historic sites, buildings and properties. The money in the fund comes from gambling revenue within the historic west river South Dakota city. Work on the dome is scheduled to begin in May.
