Democrat US Senate candidate Brian Bengs hopes to get to debate opponent John Thune

Aberdeen resident and Democrat candidate for the U.S. Senate Brian Bengs campaigned at the Brown County Fair last week and discussed a whole host of issues. This was coming off the heels of releasing his first campaign ad attacking opponent incumbent Republican John Thune.

In the ad Bengs accuses Senator Thune of losing touch with the voters of South Dakota after a lifetime of working in politics…

So far no date has been scheduled for the two opponents to debate the issues. Bengs says he is willing to do any number of debates…

Senator Thune said he believes the campaigns will schedule something, but he is more focused on taking to voters…

Republican gubernatorial candidate Kristi Noem has agreed to debate her opponent Jamie Smith one time and publicly turned down a debate hosted by South Dakota Public Broadcasting citing media bias.

Bengs believes there is a pattern developing by those in office…
