North Carolina man seriously injured in vehicle/pedestrian accident in Deadwood

A North Carolina man suffered injuries Wednesday when he was hit by a vehicle in Deadwood. According to the Deadwood Police Department, the victim identified as a 68-year-old North Carolina man, was struck while crossing Pioneer Way at the crosswalk at about 6:23 p.m. The victim suffered serious injuries and needed to be flown to a Rapid City hospital. The driver was charged with failure to yield right of way to a pedestrian. No alcohol is believed to be involved in this case.
