Parks and Rec to discuss new Storybook Land ride at upcoming meeting

The Aberdeen Parks and Recreation Board will hold a special meeting Tuesday April 11th at noon at the ARCC Eagles Nest. According to the agenda, plans are to discuss rewarding a bid for a new family ride in the Land of Oz. Aberdeen Parks, Recreation and Forestry Director Mark Hoven says plans are in place to purchase a ride called “Banyard” through Zamperla, an Italian company. If the bid is approved the board hopes to have the ride delivered and installed in the spring of 2024 at the cost of about $600,000. It would be the first new ride at the Land of Oz since the Humpty Dumpty Roller Coster installed in 2015.
