Roberts County Sheriff reports busy November 25th

(KXLG – Watertown, SD) The Robert’s County Sheriff’s Department reported a “busy day on November 25th.” Deputies conducted multiple traffic stops, which resulted in numerous arrests for illicit drugs, and alcohol. In one case, three children were present in the vehicle, and in another, ingestion of a controlled substance during pregnancy.

At 2:35 am, Deputies “observed a traffic violation” on 118th street near 457th avenue and pulled the vehicle over. The driver, Maria Gallardo, was given a field sobriety test and “was arrested at the conclusion.” A search of the vehicle found marijuana and numerous alcoholic beverages. Quinten Abbey and Ameilia Garman were also arrested after the search. All occupants were under 21 years of age but over 18.

  • Maria Gallardo was charged with the following by the deputy: DUI 1st (Alcohol and Drugs), possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (THC wax), possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage consumption.
  • Amelia Garman was charged with the following by the Deputy: Possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage consumption.
  • The deputy charged Quintin Abbey with the following: Possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance (THC wax), possession of drug paraphernalia, and underage consumption.

Later around 5:25 pm, two Deputies stopped to help a motorist parked on the side of the road near 116th street and SD 127. One deputy “recognized the driver of the vehicle as Amy Fasthorse and was aware she had a warrant out for her arrest.” Cheri Owens, the passenger, also had a warrant for arrest. The deputies searched the vehicle and found marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Three children were also in the vehicle.

It was reported, “Tribal Child Protective Services was contacted, and the children, who were safe, were taken into their custody.”

  • Amy Fasthorse was charged with the following by our deputies: Driver – use of marijuana inside of a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the abuse-neglect-or delinquency of a child (3 counts). Fasthorse had a warrant through Day County, South Dakota.
  • Cheri Owens was charged with the following by our Deputies: Passenger – use of marijuana inside of a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance (THC wax), and contributing to the abuse-neglect-or delinquency of a child (3 counts). Owens had THREE warrants through Codington County, South Dakota.

Lastly, at approximately 10:25 pm, a deputy stopped a vehicle in Sisseton; it was stated the deputy was aware the driver, Cecily Goodsell, had a warrant out for arrest. When searching the vehicle, deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

“Cecily Goodsell was charged with the following by the deputy: Possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute (methamphetamine), possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of drug paraphernalia, ingestion of methamphetamine, Ingestion of a Controlled Substance during Pregnancy (assault).”
