South Dakotan’s for Better Marijuana Laws and New Approach South Dakota, both grassroots marijuana advocacy groups, have announced they have the signatures necessary to get recreational marijuana legalization on the ballot come this November.
In the release about the announcement, they did not say how many signatures the groups have collected, but initiated measures need 35,017 valid signatures to get on the ballot in South Dakota.
Recreational marijuana has a sorted history in South Dakota. It was passed by the voters in 2018 and overturned by the state supreme court.
