According to the news outlet “The Hill” South Dakota Senator John Thune will endorse fellow senate member Tim Scott for president in 2024. Scott, the junior senator from South Carolina, officially announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for president in 2024 last Friday. According to the Hill Thune will attend Senator Scott’s formal campaign launch Monday. He becomes the highest ranking GOP official to endorse Scott. Thune also becomes the second South Dakotan to endorse Scott’s candidacy for president as fellow senator Mike Rounds told the Washington Examiner last week he will endorse Scott for president in 2024.
