Timberwolves take on Lakers tonight in Western Conference playoff, play-in tournament without center Rudy Gobert

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the road tonight taking on the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the NBA Western Conference playoffs play-in tournament. Tip off will be at 9:00 p.m. The Wolves are 2-1 against the Lakers this year. The winner of this game automatically gets the seventh seed in the Western Conference playoffs and will take on the Memphis Grizzlies in the first round series. The loser will play the winner of the Oklahoma City vs. New Orleans game for the eighth and final seed in the western conference playoffs. The team will be without star center Rudy Gobert tonight after the team announced he has been suspended one game for throwing a punch at teammate Kyle Anderson Sunday during the team’s final regular season game against the New Orleans Pelicans. The team will also be without Jayden McDaniels who fractured his hand Sunday punching a wall in frustration about getting a second foul call. He is done for the season.
