A Detroit man accused of improperly disposing of remains of a deceased woman at a Mitchell truck stop has pleaded guilty and will serve time in South Dakota. 60-year-old Anthony Harris plead guilty Improper Disposal of a body and has been sentenced to 360 days in the Davison county jail. 57-year-old Meldoy Fae Gooch’s body was found at the Mitchell truck stop on March 11th 2024. Originally Harris faced 2nd degree murder charges in this case, but those charges were dropped upon further investigation as it was determined Gooch died from an apparent drug overdose.
