Former vice president Mike Pence to enter Republican primary next week

Former vice president Mike Pence is expected to announce his presidential campaign next month in Iowa. According to sources close to the campaign, the former vice president and one time governor Indiana will announce his candidacy in Des Moinse on June 7th, the date of his 64th birthday. Pence is an overtly evangelical politician who is now calling on the Republican party to move on from former President Donald Trump and his grievances regarding the 2020 presidential election. He will be announcing his candidacy on the same day North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum is expected to announce his candidacy at an event in Fargo.
