The South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development otherwise known as Goed has announced $3.7 million in grants to 13 child care entities across South Dakota. The money will go towards improving the child care work force, creating after school programs and creating incentives for potential child care business owners. The State Legislature this past session passed a bill calling on the Department of Social Services to conduct a state-wide study on child care, do to the lack of affordable, quality child care affecting South Dakota’s workforce.
