According to the Mega Million website the winning ticket was sold in New Jersey. The prize is the 8^th largest in US History. The winner has the ability to take the $1.12 billion with an initial payment then 29 annual payments or the cash prize of 537.5 million. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.6 million. New Jersey is one of just 16 states in the nation where lottery winners can remain anonymous if they choose.
