A single individual has won the $1.12 billion mega million jackpot, ending a winless streak that started in December. That’s 30 straight drawings without giving out the jackpot. According to the Mega Million website the winning ticket was sold in New Jersey. The prize is the 8th largest in US History. The winner has the ability to take the $1.12 billion with an initial payment then 29 annual payments or the cash prize of 537.5 million. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 302.6 million. New Jersey is one of just 16 states in the nation where lottery winners can remain anonymous if they choose.
